After being without power for hours on end several times in the past few days, we decided to purchase a generator. A welcome thought: now we, and you as our guests, will never be without electricity again! Woohoo!

Today is a national holiday: Grunnlovsdag (Grown Love Day), the day Norway received its own constitution in 1814. A huge celebration takes place in every village and town.

We're going to Mandal soon for the parade. And of course, to admire all the beautiful dresses (Bunad) of the ladies.

Yay...we saw "our" female moose again, for the first time since the winter! We'd already seen her on the trail camera a few times. But tonight she was back (as she should be, in her own spot) in the meadow behind our house! Woohoo...!!

Last weekend, Bjelland volunteers walked all 10 hiking trails again and re-marked them with blue ribbons, so everyone can now walk the trails safely and without getting lost.

In recent days, you've read several reports about the new ferry planned for Eemshaven and Eydehavn (Arendal). This service, operated by Njordic Ferry Lines, is expected to launch in the spring of 2027.

Oh my...plenty to do today! Yesterday was a full-blown snowstorm all day. About 90cm of snow fell, and we were cut off from power and internet for 8 hours.

Fortunately, everything went well and there were no injuries.
